ITMO University together with the English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow invites you to join the second International Conference in ESP "More than ESP: Empowering Students to Progress" in April 4-6, 2018
The Conference is devoted to the vital issue of adapting ESP teaching methods to today's student profile. Participants will discuss contemporary trends in ESP, as well as available ESP teaching methods. 25+ hands-on workshops and sessions will provide a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge in dealing with multiple challenges of teaching English to students of various majors. Participation in the Conference will be especially beneficial for university teachers and professors teaching English in non-linguistic institutions.
On February 13, 2018 Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Lomonosov Moscow State University held a joint meeting of the Academic Councils in the hall of the Academic Council of the Fundamental Library of Moscow State University.
The meeting was devoted to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on the Universities' fraternity.
Such joint meetings are held every 5 years and traditionally the reсtors Viktor A. Sadovnichiy and Anatoliy A. Aleksandrov make their reports at the opening ceremony.
25 years ago the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, represented by Boris P. Nazarenko, the Dean of the Faculty in 1990-2011, offered an idea to enter in such an agreement, and since that time the joint meetings have been regularly held.
Was born in 1987 in Moscow in the family of an engineer.
In 2010 he graduated with honours from the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences, Bauman Moscow State Technical University. In 2013 he defended his Candidate's dissertation on the subject "Optical and Acoustic Properties of Nanocomposites Based on Globular Photonic Crystals". Since 2009 Vladimir Viktorovich has been teaching at the Department of Physics and giving a course on general physics. He was awarded the title of the best BMSTU teacher in 2013.
On December 28, 2017 the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences held an alumni reunion. Vladimir A. Titarev, Svetlana A. Tokareva, Nikolay S. Belyakov were invited, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Fundamintal Sciences V.O. Gladyshev, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty A.V. Kopaev, A.V. Kayutenko, N.D. Tyannikova, professors K.Yu. Fedorovsky, V.O. Manturov, A.V. Filinovsky. The participants discussed important issues of the faculty development in terms of international cooperation.
The Faculty of Fundamental Sciences provides the support for the 17th International Scientific Conference on Penetrating Radars GPR 2018.

"Fundamental and Applied Problems of Mechanics
In October 24-27, 2017 Bauman Moscow State Technical University held the International Conference "Fundamental and Applied Problems of Mechanics" dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian scientist Nikolay Egorovich Zhukovsky.
The main purpose of this conference was to show the results of some recent research into various areas of mechanics conducted in Russian and foreign scientific and educational institutions. Due to N.E. Zhukovsky's anniversary the special emphasis was made on the research resulted from his scientific and educational methods and conducted in modern conditions. A significant place was given to scientific and methodological issues of teaching mechanics, discussing historical issues related to the activities of well-known scientists and mechanics.
On November 2, 2017 a scientific seminar was held. The topic of the seminar was:
Generation and detection of high frequency gravitational waves at intensive electromagnetic excitation.
The seminar was conducted by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences V. I. Pustovoit.
The seminar heard reports by V.L. Kauts and V. S. Gorelik.
The organization of the seminar is one of the first steps towards the creation of a Laboratory for conducting experimental research in the field of detection and generation of gravitational waves and implements the statements of PIRT-2017 conference http://pirt.info/files/blocks/PIRT-2017/documents/statement_of_PIRT-2017_eng.pdf
The laboratory will accumulate promising ideas in the field of gravitational-wave astronomy, promote the development of an international collaboration and involve the countries of the European-Asian region in a wide ground network of gravitational antennas.
