Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Lomonosov Moscow State University held a joint meeting of the Academic Councils

On February 13, 2018 Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Lomonosov Moscow State University held a joint meeting of the Academic Councils in the hall of the Academic Council of the Fundamental Library of Moscow State University.

The meeting was devoted to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on the Universities' fraternity.Такие совместные заседания проводятся каждые 5 лет и традиционно на торжественном открытии выступили ректоры В.А. Садовничий и А.А.Александров.

Such joint meetings are held every 5 years and traditionally the reсtors Viktor A. Sadovnichiy and Anatoliy A. Aleksandrov make their reports at the opening ceremony.

The universities have had very strong friendly and scientific ties for almost two centuries. The rectors noted that fact and they also outlined the prospects for further cooperation.

The President of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Igor B. Fedorov, as well as other famous scientists and researchers attended the joint Academic Council.

The Professor V.V. Selivanov from BMSTU and the Professor N.N. Sysoev from MSU made their reports on joint fundamental research in the field of explosion physics and radio-photonics.

A brief presentation was given by the Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, A. M. Cherepaschuk from Sternberg Astronomical Institute, Moscow University. He talked about the participation of Russian scientists in solving the problem of recording gravitational waves and noted that the breakthrough idea  in this field belongs to the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladislav I. Pustovoit, who is working at Bauman Moscow State Technical University and is the Head of the Laboratory of Gravitational Wave Research at the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences.

 

The commemorative medals and honorary diplomas for many years of fruitful scientific cooperation were awarded to:

1. K.Yu. Fedorovskiy , Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Federal Professor of Mathematics, member of the Moscow and St. Petersburg Mathematical Societies, Professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics;

2. V.V. Selivanov, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of High-Precision Airborne Devices;

3. A.V. Uvarov, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor of the Department of  Molecular Processes and Extreme States of Matter of the Faculty of Physics, Moscow State University;

4. Yu.A. Vinogradov, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Leading Research Fellow of the Laboratory of Hypersonic Aerodynamics of the Research Institute of Mechanics, Moscow State University.

 

25 years ago the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, represented by Boris P. Nazarenko, the Dean of the Faculty in 1990-2011, offered an idea to enter in such an agreement, and since that time the joint meetings have been regularly held.
