July 7th to 10th, 2025, Bauman Moscow State Technical University held the 24th International Scientific Conference on Modern Problems of the Relativity Theory, Cosmology and Astrophysics, known as "Physical Interpretations of the Relativity Theory: PIRT-2025".
Mikhail Gordin, BMSTU Rector, is the Chairman of the International Organizing Committee, while Vladimir Gladyshev, Professor, Head of Scientific Educational Complex of Fundamental Sciences, is the Co-Chairman. The Chairman of the International Academic Committee is Innocenzo Pinto, Professor of the University of Naples Federico II (Italy), member of the LIGO Virgo Kagra collaboration, member of the Optical Society of America, member of the Italian Society of Electromagnetism.
The conference program focused on the latest achievements in the theory of gravity, cosmology and astrophysics. The main purpose of the conference is to train a new generation of young researchers and engineers specialising in near-Earth and deep space exploration, relying on the latest investigations of the structure and evolution of the Universe.
The PIRT-2025 conference attracted over 185 researchers from 27 countries. Over 50 participants from 4 countries gave their presentations in the BMSTU conference hall; other participants and attendees accessed the conference remotely via Zoom. An extensive cultural program was arranged for the participants.
The presentations included appearances by such luminaries as Remo Ruffini, Professor, Director of ICRANet; Sergei Sushkov, Professor, President of the Russian Gravitational Society; Konstantin Postnov, Professor, Director of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute (Moscow State University); Louis Kauffman, Professor of Mathematics in the University of Illinois at Chicago; Innocenzo Pinto, Professor of the University of Naples "Federico II"; Carlo Rovelli, Professor of the Centre de Physique Theorique of Marseille, founder of the theory of loop quantum gravity; and others.
Simultaneously, the 6th "Gravitation, Cosmology and Astrophysics ISGCA - 2025" Summer Youth Scientific School was held. In 2025, Professor Das Gupta (University of Delhi) acted as the scientific advisor to the School. The purpose of the School is to encourage gifted young people to participate in research in fundamental physics, familiarizing them with the main problems, ideas and methods of research. Over 130 participants took part in the School this year, in person and online. Each of them received an internationally valid certificate of participation.
The working languages of the Conference were Russian and English, with all presentations simultaneously interpreted. Conference proceedings had been released in advance by BMSTU Publishing.
The organizers and participants concluded that the Conference and the Summer School will contribute to raising the quality of education concerning the theory of gravity, astrophysics and cosmology, as well as to developing and strengthening international scientific collaboration.
