Summary of the "Space. Time. Civilization. STC-2023" International Scientific Conference, Cairo, Egypt, November 3rd-8th, 2023

 

The "Space. Time. Civilization. STC-2023"  International Scientific Conference was held in Cairo, Egypt, on November 3rd to 8th, 2023.

 

   The conference was the first of its kind, organized jointly by the Bauman Moscow State Technical University , the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Pilani, India) and the Russian Academy of Sciences. 

 

   Over 60 participants from several countries (Russia, India, Egypt, Nepal, Italy, the USA, Hungary, Bulgaria) attended the conference. The conference was opened by A.A. Starobinsky, President of the Russian Gravitational Society, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He noted that the conference was able to harmoniously combine studies of the Universe, spacetime and the history of civilizations. A.A. Starobinsky's plenary report examined modern cosmological problems. Numerous other researchers of considerable renown delivered their presentations at the conference, including K.A. Postnov, Corresponding Member of the RAS, Director of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute; B. Mishra, Professor of the Department of Mathematics of BITS Pilani, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (London), Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (London); S. Chakraborty, Registrar of BITS Pilani; B.M. Tuladhar, Founder and Professor of Kathmandu University, President of the Mathematical Sciences Trust of Nepal. 

 

   Cosmology and astrophysics were not the sole two fields discussed at the conference, as the range of topics covered the search for extraterrestrial civilizations, interplanetary flights, and the future development of civilization. The presentations were broadcast over Zoom in Russian and English simultaneously.

 

   The conference also hosted a round table on matters of development and cooperation between the Universities participating in STC-2023, leading to the decision to sign a Memorandum between the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia, and the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani (BITS Pilani), India. The Dean of the   Faculty of International Educational Programs of Bauman Moscow State Technical University gave a talk at the round table.

 

   The participants of the conference highly appreciated the standards set by the conference in terms of both the scientific aspect and its organisation and staging.
